IASE job shadow day coming up at the end of the month

The Irish Association for Supported Employment (IASE) has called for businesses in Mayo to participate in the sixth annual National Supported Employment Week (22 to 28 April). Job Shadow Day (24 April) is the highlight of the week and will see hundreds of people with disabilities shadow a workplace mentor as he or she goes about a normal working day.

Multyfarnham retiree helps launch trade and tourism show for the active retired

Local woman Mary Daly, a member of the Multyfarnham Active Retirement Association participated in a photocall in Dublin recently to help launch the Trade and Tourism Show, organised by the national representative body Active Retirement Ireland (ARI). The Trade and Tourism Show will take place at the Citywest Hotel on Tuesday April 17. It will run from noon until 6pm, and is open to the public, free of charge.

Roscommon Lamb Festival 2012 programme of events launched

Roscommon Lamb Festival was launched recently in the Abbey Hotel. Chairman Gerry Browne in his address reiterated that the festival is rooted in the soil and landscape of county Roscommon and was pleased to note that it has now taken root in the hearts and minds of the population of the county. He said the festival will open as usual in the Roscommon Livestock Mart on Wednesday May 2 with a special sheep sale and this year there will be a reenactment of a traditional fair day scene courtesy of Tommy Murray and the Roscommon Drama Group.

New Miele centre opens at Cunniffe Electric Expert
